A stream-of-consciousness film essay celebrating the vanishing old weird America of the Great Pacific Northwest through the voice of its remaining free-thinking denizens who resist against the status quo and the dominant culture.

While embarking on a gruesome month U.S music tour, Alabama based folk musician Andy Dale Petty and french filmmaker Nicolas Drolc decided to improvise a film. A a cross-gender between a buddy movie, a no-budget documentary, road movie, and gonzo journalism. Rooted in the great Pacific's Northwest, along the freeways & blue highways of the States of California, Oregon and Washington, the film is a testimony to the free spirit that made the trademarks of these lands and it's inhabitants, from the gold-diggers pioneers to the 1950's beatniks in California, to the punks of the 1970's in Oregon to the late 1980's grunge cultural explosion that sparkled off the Seattle area. Intermingled with roadside attractions, oddities & curiosities and a detailled visual collection of a Weird and dying old America.

featuring the voices of 87 years old die-hard hippie, self-taught architect, Shelter and Whole Earth catalog editor Lloyd Kahn, legendary Tacoma based graphic designer Art Chantry, San Francisco's counter cultural publisher & anthropologist V. Vale (Search and Destroy Zine, Re-Search books), Portland punk scene pionneer activist and Dead Moon collaborator Kelly Halliburton, Mississippi Records founder Eric Isaacson, a member of the cult psychedelic rock N-Y band Holy Modal Rounders, Dave Reisch, Beat Happening musician and Anacortes based local historian Bret Lunsford, who shines light on the ghost of Cosmic Scholar Harry Smith, as well as various anonymous artistic, political and social activists met along the way.

Un essai cinémaniaque à la gloire d'une Amérique zarbi et en péril, celle de la côte Ouest, à travers la parole de certain-e-s de ses habitant-e-s en résistance contre l'ordre établi et la culture dominante.

Alors qu'ils s'embarquent pour une tournée d'un mois, le musicien de Folk originaire d'Alabama Andy Dale Petty et son ami, le cinéaste nancéien Nicolas Drolc en profitent pour improviser un film, à la croisée du road movie, du buddy movie, du documentaire fauché et du journalisme gonzo. Sillonnant les routes des Etats de Californie, Oregon, et Washinghton, le film est un hommage à l'esprit de liberté qui caractérise ces lieux et leurs habitants, des pionniers de la ruée vers l'or, jusqu'au beatniks de San Francisco des années 50, aux punks de Portland des années 70 jusqu'à l'explosion culturelle Grunge qui part de la région de Seattle à la fin des années 80 pour embraser le monde entier. Le long de la route, on croise des curiosités oubliées et on obtient une collection visuelle détaillée d'une amérique étrange, vouée à disparaître.

On y écoute surtout les récits de Lloyd Kahn, architecte hippie de 87 ans, ancien rédac chef de Shelter et du Whole Earth Catalog, d'Art Chantry, l'un des plus importants graphistes vivants, figure de proue du mouvement grunge, de V. Vale, anthropologue et éditeur du fanzine Search & Destroy et des livres Re-Search), de Kelly Halliburton, activiste punk pionnier de la scene de Portland et collaborateur du groupe culte de garage punk Dead Moon, d'Eric Isaacson, fondateur du label indépendant Mississippi Records, de Dave Reisch, du groupe de rock psychédélique new yorkais Holy Modal Rounders, de Bret Lunsford, musicien membre du groupe Beat Happening dans les années 80, écrivain éclairant la mémoire de la figure de l'érudit cosmique Harry Smith, ainsi que bon nombre d'anonymes, artistes, activistes politiques et agitatrices et agitateurs notoires.
